CummingToGeorgia.com is an online directory of businesses, entertainment and attractions in Cumming, Georgia. The site also provides links to web sites of local government agencies and schools.
The site was developed in C# on the .NET 3.0 framework. The web site highlights URL rewriting for search engine optimization and dynamic sitemaps for search engine crawlers. Instead of using the built-in AdRotator included with .NET, we developed our own to insure that each advertisement would be shown only once on each page. The backend is developed on Microsoft SQL and XML. With the CummingToGeorgia.com web site, we are also utilizing .NET's new LINQ technology.
Various metrics are measured throughout the site. Listed businesses and advertisers are provided a username and password for reviewing graphical statistics concerning page visits and click-throughs on advertisements and links. The reports allow users to monitor their site's referrals and successfully measure their ROI. The graphical statistics were developed in Microsoft's new Silverlight technology. Users also have the advantage of updating their business page's content, including links, coupons and promotions, via their admin interface.
